Shelley M. Hess is also known as one of the consummate holistic professionals in America through her crossover expertise in holistic health, skin care and cosmetics. She holds two master's degrees in marketing and management and has apprenticed under a Chinese holistic health practitioner for four years, where she learned ancient herbal medicine,
acupressure, reflexology, shiatsu and Zen therapy. As a respected author and educator, Hess has written
sixteen books, eight of them are in two languages, and numerous bilingual training programs that have sold in over seven countries. Hess published Facemakers News, the first educational newsletter for makeup professionals in the United States and Canada.
Shelley invented an unique four part makeup system called "Faceology®"
. She has also served as a guest lecturer to the American Medical Association's Dermatological Conference. Hess has been requested to participate in all the major esthetic conferences and trade shows as a trainer and speaker since
1975.
